Reliance turnover up by 18 pc, Net profit up by 28 pc
Mumbai, Apr 21 (UNI) Reliance Industries today reported a record turnover of Rs 1,39,269 crore for 2007-08, up by 18 per cent over the previous year with the net profit increase by 63 per cent to Rs 19,458 crore.
The net profit included an exceptional income of Rs 4,733 crore Excluding exceptional income it increased by 28 per cent to Rs 15,261 crore.
The Company also announced a dividend of 130 per cent with the payout involved being Rs 1,860 crore.
Commenting on the results, Reliance Industries Limited Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani said, ''This was a landmark year for Reliance as we delivered record financial and operating performance in challenging and volatile market conditions. Our key investments in oil and gas development and refining are expected to commission this year. I expect them to be key drivers to deliver earnings growth in the near future,'' he added.
