Maya orders high-level probe in Amar's VVIP plot case

Lucknow, Apr 21 (UNI) Samajwadi Party (SP) general secretary Amar Singh is once again trapped in a fiasco,with Uttar Pradesh government today ordering a high level probe into allotment of a VVIP plot to the politician against his old Economically Weaker Section (EWS) plot by the previous Mulayam Singh Yadav government.

Principal secretary Urban development R S Lakha has been given the charge to probe into the matter and submit a report within 15 days, sources said.

According to the case, in 1993 during the Mulayam Singh Yadav regime, Amar Singh was allotted a 35 metre EWS plot when he was Congress general secretary, though he was not entittled for it.

Later in 2004, in place of this EWS plot, he was allotted a 708 sq meter VVIP plot in the posh Vipul Khand area of Gomti Nagar here.

Recently, Mr Singh got constructed a bunglow on the plot in the name of Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan's daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
