EC bans use of SMS in poll campain
Shimoga, Apr 21 (UNI) Shimoga Deputy Commissioner T K Anilkumar today said the Election Commission of India has banned the use of SMS in poll campaign.
Addressing a press conference here today Mr Anilkumar said that if such illegal SMS is being used by any contesting candidate or the party activist then the expenses incurred for sending SMS will be fixed to the contesting candidates assembly polls next month.
He appealed to the people to bring to the notice of authorities if they receive such messages seeking votes on their mobiles.
The VIPs, who come for election campaign in their respective constituencies, should vacate it after the scheduled time of the day.
