Copper heavy, copper utensils ease
Mumbai, Apr 21 (UNI) Select metals in ferrous category declined today on lack of fresh demand and bearish global advice from London Metal Exchange (LME) along with Delhi, Kolkata, Indore and other centres, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange (BME) said.
In the ferrous metal category, copper heavy and copper utensils were down by Rs 200 and Rs 100 per quintal respectively, on persisent offloading by stock holders.
Brass cuttings shot up by Rs 100 per quintal due to fresh buying support.
However, brass utensils and aluminium utensils remained unchanged on scattered buying.
In the non-ferrous metal category, copper wire bars slipped by Rs 200 per quintal amid absence of demand while nickel cathode improved by Rs 10 per kg because of good demand from retailers.
However, aluminium ingot, zinc slab, lead ingot and tin slab remained flat on moderate demand, traders added.
Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: copper heavy - Rs 36,500, copper utensils - Rs 32,900, brass utensils - Rs 25,300, brass cuttings - Rs 26,300 and aluminium utensils - Rs 11,200.
Non-ferrous metals: copper wire bars - Rs 39,900, aluminium ingots - Rs 14,400, zinc slab - Rs 12,200, lead ingots - Rs 13,000, tin slab - Rs 1,000 per kg and nickel cathode - Rs 1,390 per kg.
