Temperature soars with no sign of rainfall

Kolkata, Apr 20 (UNI) Heatwave-like condition is staring West Bengal with the day's maximum temperature rising to 39.6 degree Celsius.

Alipore Met officials here informed that both maximum and minimum temperatures were four degree above normal. The minimum temperature was recorded at 28.5 degree Celsius.

Although, the maximum relative humidity was recorded at 87 per cent today, there is no possibility of rainfall with the sky likely to remain clear in the next 48 hours.

Met officials said the weather in the next 24 hours will remain hot and sultry with maximum temperature hovering around 39 degree Celsius and is expected to increase in the next 48 hours.

While the weather in the plains will be mainly dry, rains or thundershower ares likely to occur in isolated areas of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal.
