Police takes action on eve-teasers
Vijayawada, Apr 20 (UNI) City police has taken stern measures against eve-teasing by filing cases against 23 persons, City West Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) L Vijaya Kumar said.
Addressing a press conference here today, he said about 68 cases had been registered at various police stations in the west zone.
More cases will be filed against 17 persons, including five students.
Mr Kumar said continuous vigil would be maintained on their activities and police personnel deployed in civilian dress at bus stops and colleges to watch their movements.
If they were still found harassing girl students, they would be taken into custody, he warned.
He said complaint boxes had been set up in all the colleges for reporting such incidents to police.
