Suspected terrorists kill kidnapped police chief in Chechnya

Moscow, Apr 18 (UNI) Suspected terrorists have killed district police chief Ali Gaitamurov in the war-troubled Chechnya, in North Caucasus.

''A search group of Chechen operatives discovered the body of Gaidamurov with signs of violent death not far from the place where his car was found on the road between the village of Assinovskaya and the Ingush village of Nesterovskaya, on the territory of Ingushetia,'' a Chechen law enforcer told Itar-Tass news agency today.

''At present necessary investigation is being conducted at the site of the incident,'' he added.

Gaidamurov was kidnapped last evening when he was going home from work. On the way to the village Assinovskaya of the Sunzha region, he stopped to buy foodstuffs.

When he came out of the shop, two unidentified gunmen approached him, bundled him into their own VAZ-2109 car and took him to an unknown place.

His car was found as a result of a special operation.
