Lack of quorum forces speaker to adjourn House in Pondy

Puducherry, Apr 18 (UNI) Speaker R Radhakrishnan today adjourned the Puducherry Legislative Assembly to April 21, due to lack of quorum.

Mr Radhakrishnan noticed lack of quorum during the discussion on demand for grants for various departments and rang the bell following which the members rushed into the House. During the discussions, Mr Radhakrishnan rang the bell thrice to inform the members that the House lacked quorum.

When Independent member J Narayansamy was speaking, again there was no quorum and the Speaker gave a long bell. As none of the members turned up, Mr Radhakrishnan adjourned the House to Monday.
