CLP Power to invest Rs 500 cr in Jamnagar wind power plant

New Delhi, Apr 18 (UNI) CLP India today said it will invest about Rs 500 crore in a 100.8 MW wind power project in Jamnagar, Gujarat.

''The project will involve building of 126 turbines of Enercon-E53, each with a capacity of 800 KW, and is expected to be completed in two phases, with 50.4MW to be completed by June 2008, and the other 50.4MW by January 2009,'' a company statement said.

Upon commissioning, the wind farm is anticipated to reduce about 2,00,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide annually, it added.

CLP India is one of the largest foreign investors in the Indian power sector. It is a 100 per cent subsidiary of the Hong Kong-based CLP Group.
