Hyderabad, Apr 18 (UNI) The opposition Telugu Desam Party(TDP) today urged the Chief Election Commissioner(CEC) to take appropriate action against the Andhra Pradesh Government and its order for cancellation of transfer of 35 police officers, violating the code of conduct in the State.

In a letter to the CEC, with a copy to the press, TDP General Secretary, M A Shariff alleged that immediatley after the announcement of schedule for the by-elections to the state on April 16, the state Government reshuffled the police administration by transfering 35 police officers 'to suit' the whims and fancies of the ruling party members.

Mr Shariff further alleged that to attract the voters, the state cabinet in its meeting on April 17 initiated a decision for creation of sports corpus with crores of rupees in the state to extend the term of a person, who was in-charge of rural electricity cooperative societies.

The cabinet decisions would influence the voters in ten districts of the State in the ensuing bypoll, he added.
