Mother-daughter killed for witchcraft practise

Kokrajhar, Apr 16 (UNI) A mother-daughter duo was hacked to death by unidentified miscreants in Assam's Kokrajhar district late last night for allegedly practicing black magic and witchcraft.

Police sources informed that Nandeswari Brahma (80) and her daughter Hafang (50) were found murdered in their house in Khagrabari Monorgaon under Dotma police station.

The bodies bore marks of injuries by sharp weapons. An axe and spade were recovered from near the bodies.

The possibility of the women being killed for alleged practice of witchcraft and black magic has not been ruled out by the police, though they were investigating other angles also.
