CGHS facilities continues for journalists: Minister

New Delhi, Apr 16 (UNI) Minister of state for Health Panabaka Lakshmi today denied that CGHS facilities extended to accredited journalists have been discontinued.

In reply to a query in the Lok Sabha, the Minister said the facilities are available on ''recovery of cost'' basis.

She admitted that the cost to be recovered has been enhanced for past few years and journalists were reluctant to pay the arrears at the enhanced rates.

She however said that it would be difficult for the Government to reduce the cost payable by journalists while charging enhance rates to other similar categories of beneficiaries.
