Temple cars renovation in progress for Rs 95.35 lakh in TN

Tiruchirapalli, Apr 11 (UNI) Renovation of Temple cars in 16 important temples in Tiruchirapalli, Karur, Pudukkottai, Perambalur and Ariyalur Districts were in progress at an estimated cost of Rs 95.35 lakh, according to M K Balasubramanian, Joint Commissioner Hindu Religiuious and Charitable ndownment (HR&CE) department Tiruchirapalli.

Talking to newspersons here today, he said among 16 cars, were under renovation including Madurakaliamman temple at Siruvachur in Perambalur District.

Out of the total cost of Rs 95.35 lakh for the ongoing car renovation scheme, the public contribution would be Rs 30.35 lakhs, he added.

He said the Government had sanctioned an Assistant Commissioner for HR and CE department for Karur District and the office of the Assistant Commissioner would be functioned from April 15 onwards.
