Salary hike for Safai Karamcharis on cards

Jaipur, Apr 11 (UNI) The National Commission for Safai Karmacharis Chairperson Santosh Choudhary said substantial hike in wages of Karmacharis in the country was on cards.

Addressing a press conference here today, Ms Choudhary said the Wage Board constituted for uniform wages for the karmacharis had recommended a daily wage between Rs 180 and Rs 120, depending on the category of their city.

She further said safai karmacharis working in a class A city would soon get Rs 180 per day, in Class B city Rs 150 and in Class C township Rs 120 per day.

A notification for the purpose was due by a day or two, she added.
