BJP warns voters of ''Mayawati's trap''
Basti, Apr 9 (UNI) BJP General Secretary Vinay Katiyar today warned voters in Uttar Pradesh to beware of Chief Minister Mayawati and alleged that ''she collects money by selling her traditional vote bank''.
''As per the Income Tax department records, Ms Mayawati is the sixth richest leader in the world,'' Mr Katiyar said addressing an election gathering in Saltoa under Khalilabad Lok Sabha area.
''Ms Mayawati is becoming prosperous by selling her vote bank.
Therefore, I want to save voters from 'vote ki Saudagar' Mayawati,'' the BJP leader claimed.
Drawing a parallel between other leaders, Mr Katiyar claimed the law and order situation under Ms Mayawati's regime was even ''worse'' than that of the previous regimes led by Mr Mulayam Singh Yadav and former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad.
It was sad to note that the farmers of the state were in a dismal condition, the BJP leader said.
He said domestic gas cylinder was being sold in black at Rs 700.
Wheat was being imported at around Rs 1,500 per quintal, while the same crop produced in the country was being sold at Rs 1,000 per quintal, Mr Katiyar added.
