BJP favours NDA model of Atal Bihari Vajpayee

Patna, Apr 8 (UNI) Reacting to the ''Bihar model'' proposed by the JD(U) for the next Lok Sabha election, its major alliance partner BJP today openly vouched for the ''NDA model'', initiated under the leadership of the former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Party national spokesperson of the BJP Rajiv Pratap Rudi told UNI here that neither was his party in favour of the ''Modi model'' nor the ''Nitish model''.

He said it supported the ''NDA model'' of Mr Vajpayee and present Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was a senior minister in his Cabinet.

Reacting to the statement, issued recently by JD(U) national general secretary-cum-spokesperson Shivanand Tiwari, Rajya Sabha MP, for adopting the ''Bihar model'' instead of the ''Gujarat model'' to contest the Lok Sabha election, Mr Rudi said the BJP felt that the NDA model was the most successful and had the sustainability.

Mr Rudi further said, '' The success of our government in the state is an outcome of the NDA model. '' Earlier, Mr Tiwari suggested for adopting the ''Bihar model'' and claimed this model to be the most challenging and acceptable one compared to the ''Gujarat model''.

He stated that once the ''Bihar model'' was adopted, it would open the doors of the NDA to its alliance partners like the Telegu Desam Party (TDP).

He said the ''Bihar model'' was working on the policy of coordination by accommodating each and every section of the society.
