Adobe CEO son's abduction: prime accused held
Noida, Apr 3 (UNI) Police today arrested the prime accused in the high profile November 2006 kidnapping of Adobe CEO Naresh Gupta's son from the Raghupura region here.
Senior Superintendent of Police A Satish Ganesh said Chhattrapal, alias Dev, escaped from police custody on February 4 when he was being taken to court.
He said Gupta had, four days ago, received a letter purpotedly from Chhattrapal, threatening to kidnap his son if he did not ease police pressure on him.
Chhattrapal and his accomplices had abducted Gupta's three-year-old son Anant on November 13, 2006, and demanded a Rs 50 lakh ransom. Anant was rescued five days later. Police had then arrested Chhattrapal and two more people on charges of kidnapping.
