State DGs unhappy with lower pay band as compared to CPMF chiefs
New Delhi, Mar 31 (UNI) The director generals of state police forces today expressed displeasure over disparity in pay scales as compared to chiefs of paramilitary forces.
The Central IPS Association lamented here that only DGs of central police forces have been put in the pay band (fixed) of Rs 80,000.
''The responsibilities and problems dealt by DGs of several states are in no way less then those faced by the Central Police Forces...there should be no difference in the pay at the level of DG, whether he is in CPMF or in a state,'' the Association said demanding similar pay package of Rs 80,000.
''Downgrading the status of DGP, who is in charge of internal security, shall have its own repercussions and is not at all rationalistic on groundS of well- setled administrative propriety,'' it added.
