Liquor shops to net Rs 1613 crore in MP

Bhopal, Mar 31 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh government is expected to net in an excise revenue of Rs 1613.24 crore in 2008-09 through auction of 3382 liquor shops, including 2677 of country liquor.

The revenue was expected to be 18 percent higher than Rs 1367.61 crore earned during 2007-08, Excise Commissioner T Dharmarao said.

He said the revenue hike was 20 percent or higher in 30 districts.
