Grim chance of early Lok Sabha polls: Advani
Jaipur, Mar 31 (UNI) Deviating from his earlier view, Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha and BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate L K Advani today ruled out the possibility of early Lok Sabha elections.
Delivering inaugural address at the BJP Rajasthan state executive meet here today, Mr Advani said till recently he was foreseeing the possibility of early Lok Sabha polls but now the situation had been changed and he feels that such possibility was over now.
He said this changed situation has emerged as both the Congress as well as the Leftists, the main driving forces in the UPA government, were now scared of the outcome of the elections.
Mr Advani said the Congress and Leftists who used to threaten each other over the issue of Indo-US Nuclear deal, had now realised the ground reality that was not in favour to face early elections.
''Now I feel that Lok Sabha elections will be held in 2009 only and may be held a month or two in advance than the due time of May 2009'', Mr Advani added.
