Govt to replace vandalised Mahavir statue at Mollem
Panaji, Mar 31 (UNI) The vandalised statue of Lord Mahavir at Mollem on the Goa-Karnataka highway would be replaced with a new one soon.
An assurance to this effect was given by Chief Minister Digambar Kamat today to a delegation of Jain community, which expressed its concern over the issue.
The Chief Minister accompanied by Forest Minister Filip Neri Rodrigues and Chief Conservator of forests Omkar Singh, inspected the site.
The damaged statue would later be shifted to the State museum, Mr Kamat added.
