Farm labourers stage demonstration in Kakinada
Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, Mar 31 (UNI) A large number of agricultural labourers, owing allegiance to the Andhra Pradesh Vyavasaya Coolie Sangham, today staged a demonstration in front of the Collectorate here, seeking pattas for the 456 acres of poramboke lands in Chendurty and Kodavali villages, occupied by them for the last 15 years.
The demonstrators, led by Sangham's Mandal Committee Secretary Pilla Chandram, later called on the Collector and presented a memorandum, requesting him to distribute the land to the agricultural labourers who raised cashew plantations.
They also demanded that the Collector stall the fencing work around the land.
