CPI(I)asks govt to bring Women's reservation bill before Parl soon
New Delhi, Mar 31 (UNI) Expressing disappointment with the UPA government over the failure to bring the women's reservation bill in Parliament, CPI General Secretary A B Bardhan said he expected the bill to be brought before the present Lok Sabha itself.
''We are disappointed that women's reservation bill, agriculture and social security bill was not introduced in Parliament. The bill for unorganised sector workers is a total sham,'' Mr Bardhan told UNI journalists in an interaction.
He said that the left parties would pressurise the government to bring the women's reservation bill before the 14th Lok Sabha itself before its term expires.
''We are doing whatever we can do to get the bill before Parliament. But women will also have to act themselves to get their demand met,''he said.
