BSF seized 36 cattle near Indo-Bangla border

Shillong, Mar 31 (UNI) The BSF jawans have seized 36 oxen from Naya Bazar area near Meghalaya-Bangladesh border yesterday.

A BSF release here today said the cattle was being smuggled to Bangladesh at Rs 3.60 lakh.

The IG, BSF Assam and Meghalaya frontier, has directed the commanders and troops deployed in border areas to thwart any attempt of smuggling and infiltration.

''This seizure highlights and underlines the fact that despite the number of cases of cattle seizure by the BSF, the attempt continues with the connivance of miscreants on both sides of the international border,''the statement added.
