CBI nabs CPWD official for bribe

Bhopal, Mar 29 (UNI) A Central Public Works Department's junior engineer and his accomplice were arrested red handed while taking bribe of Rs 10,000 from a contractor in his office by a team of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) here.

CBI sources said that Amit Gupta was delaying the payment of a contractor and was demanding bribe in this regard.

On the complaint of the contractor, CBI laid a trap and send the contractor to bribe Gupta, who deputed another contractor Rashid to take the money, but later he appeared on the scene.

The duo were nabbed under Anti Corruption Act yesterday.
