Airtel, Vodafone to pass on benefit of ADC phase out to consumers
New Delhi, Mar 27 (UNI) Leading telecom service providers Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Essar today welcomed the TRAI's move to phase out Access Deficit Charge (ADC) and said it would pass on the benefit to the consumers.
''As a leader in telecom sector we are committed to pass on the benefits of ADC of 0.75 per cent sunset to the customers and will make announcement on the details within a week, after consulting TRAI,'' company said in a statement.
The company added that it is delighted with the government's focus to further improve rural teledensity.
Vodafone in a statement said ''We welcome the move. On our part, we are committed to passing on the benefit to our customers in an equitable manner and will announce it shortly.'' Airtel said as a company, it has already taken several measures towards increasing penetration of telecom services in rural India by taking our services to over 3.2 lakh villages.
The company's roll out in thousands of more villages in the coming year will be catalysed as a result of such positive steps by the government, it added.
