CPI denounces POSCO's proposed plant in Orissa
Hyderabad, Mar 26 (UNI) The Communist Party of India (CPI) today passed a resolution denouncing steel major Posco's proposed steel plant in Orissa.
The resolution, passed at the 20th Party Congress here, condemned the ''blacklisted and globally discredited'' POSCO's move to set up a giant steel plant in Orissa by ''adopting violent methods''.
The resolution condemned the company for ''plundering'' the rich natural resources of Orissa.
It alleged that the state government had fully allowed the MNCs to plunder the vast mineral resources of the state.
The party hailed the resistance movement by the people of the state against the project.
