SP not averse to have alliance with JD(S): Bangarappa
Bangalore, Mar 22 (UNI) Samajwadi Party State President S Bangarappa today said his party was not averse to having an alliance with the Janata Dal(S) in the coming Assembly elections.
Speaking to mediapersons here, he said so far there had been no formal talks in this regard between the two parties, but there had been enough indications in this regard.
JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda had also pointed out that his party might seek tie-ups with some parties like the Samajwadi Party in Karnataka.
The former Chief Minister, who left Congress to set up the SP base in Karnataka and became its state chief, had earlier said his party would not have tie up with any other parties.
''These things happen in politics. We are not averse to joining hands with JD(S). The coalition Governments are here to stay. No single party will get a majority this time either,'' he said.
Mr Bangarappa said the chances of the Congress, which had brought back former Chief Minister S M Krishna to active politics, would not change as it had reached a point where the party's condition was ''beyond repair.'' UNI RS GKT NY RN1952
