Court directs issuance of summons in obscene poster case

Mumbai, Mar 19 (UNI) Additional Sessions Judge S N Sardesai has directed the metropolitan court to issue fresh summons to Himanshu Bhatt and Illena Hammam who had been discharged by the lower court from the obscene posters case pertaining to the film ''Rog''.

Petitioner Vinod Jain had challenged the metropolitan court's orders of discharging Mr Bhatt and Ms Hammam.

Advocate Vijendra Jabra, who is representing Mr Jain, said, ''We will move the metropolitan court and file an application seeking fresh summons against Mr Bhatt and Ms Hammam.'' Earlier, Bollywood film director Pooja Bhatt had furnished a personal bond as she had failed to comply with the court's earlier directive in the obscene poster case pertaining to her film ''Rog''.

Ms Bhatt, who was the producer and director of ''Rog'', had allegedly displayed obscene posters, introducing South African model Illena Hammam in 2004, in Juhu. Following this Mr Jain had filed a complaint with the Santacruz Police and when the police did not take cognizance, he filed a case in the Bandra Court.
