Govt must pay more attention towards correct use of Hindi language
Patna, Mar 17 (UNI) Opposition members in the Bihar Legislative Council today lambasted the government for 'improper' usage of Hindi language in official documents and creating confusion.
Raising the issue during the debate on the third supplementary budget for 2007-08, RJD member Ram Bachan Rai, also a professor of Hindi language, drew the attention of Deputy Chief minister cum Finance minister Sushil Kumar Modi towards some grievious mistakes in government documents creating confusion about the allocation of funds.
Realising the gravity of the allegation, Mr Modi, while giving his reply, apologised to the opposition member for the inadvertant mistake and urged Dr Rai to go through the documents once and draw the government's attention towards more such mistakes and improper usage of the language, if any.
However, the matter could not be discussed further as the entire opposition, including the RJD members, soon walked out of the House protesting the alleged anti-farmers policy of the government.
