World cinema section of film festival inaugurated

Jamshedpur, Mar 15 (UNI) A mega session of 13th Jamshedpur International Film Festival was inaugurated by Czech Cultural Councilor, Katerina Volkova at the Centre for Excellence here today.

Speaking on the occasion, she said this was just begining of the cultural tie between India and Cezch Republic, and hoped that ''it would continue for the years to come.'' She also praised the organiser -- Celluloid Chapter -- for promoting Czech films and said through such efforts the people of India would get an idea of socio-cultural situation of that western country.

A Czech film based on the second world war was also screened on the occasion.A package of Bangladeshi films would also be shown in the festival from March 19.
