'Cricket' takes youth's life, one held in Jammu
Jammu, Mar 10 (UNI) In a tragic incident, a youth was killed when he was hit by a cricket bat by one of the members of the opposite team in tehsil Bani of Kathua district in Jammu, police said here today.
The deceased, identified as Vipin Kumar, a resident of village Taggar in Bani area, had a scuffle with a member of the rival team, Mohan Lal, during a friendly cricket match yesterday evening.
''Enraged Mohan Lal hit Vipin with a cricket bat on the head, due to which he fell unconscious,''the police told UNI, adding that he was immediately taken to hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.
Meanwhile, the accused was arrested and a case has been registered against him at Bani police station.
