New Delhi, Mar 10 (UNI) After all the court cases pending in different states against Artist Maqbool Fida Hussain were transferred to Delhi, the man who filed the complaint in Indore urged the Delhi High Court that the expenses made by him in travelling to Delhi be reimbursed by Mr Hussain as it was an extra burden on him.

Ajay Singh Naruka, a resident of Indore, Madhya Pradesh had filed a complaint against Mr Hussain for hurting the sentiments of the people through his paintings. The case was transfered to Delhi after the intervention by the Supreme Court.

Mr Naruka had now approached the Delhi High Court to reimburse the expenses incurred on travel and stay in Delhi, as he, with meagre means was unable to visit the court each time and make arrangements for his stay here on each hearing.

The amount, he said should be paid by Mr Hussain, as it was on his request the cases were transferred to Delhi.

Purnima Sethi, Mr Naruka's lawyer, urged the court that since Mr Hussain, who stays abroad, had now refused to come to India till the pendency of the trial as he feels threatened by the public at large, should be made to bear all the costs of the complainants.

''It was on Hussain's request the cases were transferred to Delhi and now he is the one who does not attend the cases and we have to come to Delhi on each hearing,'' Mr Naruka said.

The Court will hear Mr Naruka's petition on Wednesday.
