Symposium throws spotlight on latest in medicine
Kochi, Mar 9 (UNI) A symposium to discuss latest medical techniques such as stem cells, gene therapy and nanotechnology in medicine was held here to mark the golden jubilee of INHS Sanjivani, Southern Naval Command's hospital here.
Titled 'Medicine in the 21st Century,' the symposium was attended by a large gathering of senior and retired medical officers of the Armed Forces, Senior Naval Officers and eminent doctors of Kochi yesterday.
Inaugurated by VAdm SK Damle, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Naval Command, the syposium provided a platform for discussing and exchanging ideas about recent advances in medicine, a Southern Naval Command release said.
Commanding Officer, INHS Sanjivani, Surg Capt Mohan Malse, Dr K U Natarajan from the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Surg Rear Adm VS Dixit and Surg Vice Adm (Retd) HP Mukherjee were among those who attended.
