Gun battle between security forces, Maoist ultras on in Bokaro

Bokaro, Mar 9 (UNI) Police and CRPF raided a Maoist Communist Centre training camp at Dengagarha under Nawadih police station, about 50 km from here, leading to heavy exchange of fire between the two sides that began at about 1300 hours today.

Reports were still awaited if there were any casualties and injuries, Superintendent of Police Priya Dubey here said, adding that only after the return of the personnel engaged in the operation, the exact situation would be known.

Acting on a tip-off, the forces rushed to the area of the MCC camp surrounded by jungles.

As they raided the camp, the ultras retaliated, the SP said, adding that the exchange of bullets was still on.
