Kerala HC dismisses quo warranto against Law Minister
Kochi, Mar 6 (UNI) The Kerala High Court today dismissed a quo warranto petition seeking to disqualify Law Minister M Vijayakumar.
A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice H L Dattu and Mr Justice K M Joseph, however, made it clear that the petitioner would have the liberty to move a better petition.
The petitioner Kalarcode Venugopalan Nair, in his public interest litigation, submitted that the Minister had supported the agitation for a bench of the High Court at Thiruvananthapuram.
He also contended that by doing so he had shown allegiance to a particular province, hence violating the oath of office.
The Minister had committed contempt of court by leading the agitation demanding a bench in the state capital, he contended.
