Durgesh Man Singh appointed ambassador to India
Kathmandu, Mar 6 (UNI) The Nepal government has appointed Dr Durgesh Man Singh as ambassador to India.
He was appointed ambassador in accordance with the Interim Constitution of Nepal-2063 BS, Foreign Affairs ministry said.
Dr Singh, a close relative of Nepali Congress leader late Ganeshman Singh, had been a student of Indian prime minister Manmohan Singh.
He was appointed ambassador following the illness of Nepali Congress leader Shailaja Acharya, who was earlier proposed for the post.
The parliamentary committee had, however, criticised Ms Acharya's role during the popular movement, saying she supported the Monarchy.
