1,23,054 farmers to get benefit of loan waiver scheme

Nashik, Mar 6 (UNI) As many as 1,23,054 farmers from the District will get benefit of Rs 5,69,96,000 under the loan waiver scheme, announced by the Finance Minister in the Union Budget for 2008-09, the District Sub-Registrar Sharad Tare said today.

These farmers include 1,01,000 members of the Nashik District Central Co-operative (NDCC) Bank for whom the loan waiver amount will be Rs 4,60,83,000. There are 20,200 members of Nationalised Banks and the amount will be Rs 92,16,000. In addition, there will be 1,854 members of Bhuvikas Bank and the amount is Rs 16,97,000, Mr Tare told mediapersons here.

These are all tentative figures. The numbers may go up, Mr Tare added.
