Abandoned container creates panic near Srinagar Airport

Srinagar Mar 4 (UNI) An abandoned container outside the entrance gate of heavily-guarded high security Sheikh-ul-Aalam Aairport created panic, official sources today said.

They said a sentry noticed the abandoned container and alerted other security forces, deployed at the airport.

Later, Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) was summoned after the entire area was sealed and those present were taken to safe places.

The BDS after opening the container found three live short-range tear smoke munitions, which were later handed over to local police.
