Women voters outnumber men in Pondy

Puducherry, Feb 28 (UNI) The total voter strength in the Union Territory of Puducherry was put at 7,31,577 -- 3,79,057 women and 3,52,520 men -- when the final electors' list of all constituencies was published here on February 25.

The voter strength in the Puducherry region, comprising 21 constituencies, was 5,57,645, while that of six seats in the Karaikal region was 1,20,593, Mahe (two constituencies) 27,776 and Yanam 25,563.

Women outnumbered men in several constituencies. As many as 384 service voters were also present in the Union Territory.
