Minister thanks people for reaching Delhi for rally
Chandigarh, Feb 27 (UNI) Punjab Cooperation Minister and SAD General Secretary Capt Kanwaljit Singh today thanked the people of Punjab for converging in large number to the national capital to participate in the historic 'Insaaf Rally', jointly organised by SAD-BJP combine.
In a press statement here, Capt Singh described the 'mega rally' as an eye opener for the Congress led UPA government and pointed out that even now if the Central Government continues to ignore the genuine and rightful demands of Punjab, especially of its peasantry, then yesterday's historic and unprecedented turnout would play a significant role in dethroning the UPA government in the coming general elections.
Capt Singh revealed that not only the farmer but also the industrialists of the state were also the victim of the Centre's vote bank politics. The industry in the neighbouring states like Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttrakhand were entitled to 10 years' tax holiday which had badly hit Punjab's industry and ultimately led to its flight to these states, he added.
