Jayadev award for Sisir Mishra, Surendra Sahoo

Bhubaneswar, Feb 25 (UNI) Noted film Director Sisir Mishra and camera man Surendra Sahoo will receive the prestigious Jayadev award for 2005 and 2006 respectively.

The award carries a cash prize of Rs 25,000, a certificate of honour and a shawl. It would be presented by Orissa Governor M C Bhandare at a functioin here on February 28, Culture Minister S N Patro told newspersons here today.

'Puja Pain Phula Tia', Oriya feature film topped the award list by capturing six awards.The film won the best feature film, best director, best story,best photography, best child artist and best female play back singer awards.

While Gadadhar Putty bagged the best Director and best story award for the film, Jugal Debata got the best photography and A Mohapatra won the best child artist award.

Srija Panda bagged the best playback female singer award for her song ''To Jibanare Sathi tia hebi hasi hasi''in the film.

The film received the Mohan Sundar Dev Goswami award for best feature film which carries a cash prize of Rs 15,000 a certificate.

A seven-member jury headed by Bipin Bihari Mishra constituted by the government selected the awardees from among the films released during 2006 as well as for the Jaydev award, Mr Patro said.

Mihir Das and Jina bagged the best actor and the best actress award for their role in 'Pheria Mo Suna Bhauni' and Om Prakash Mohanty won the best music director (Bhagya Chakra).

The other awardees were--Best Editing Rajendra Kumar Mohapatra (Jay Jagannath),best lyrics--Rajani Ranjan Das (Bhagya Chakra), best supporting actor--Arindam (Prema Ritu Asilare),best supporting actress--Archita(Babu I love you),best Comedian--Pintu Nanda (Prema Ritu Asilare)best Art director--Amiya Moharana(Babu I love you), best sound recordist--N Ranjan (Prema Ritu Asilare).

The best jury award went to Sabyasachi Mohapatra for Jay Jagannath.

No award was given for documentary and children's film for the year 2006, the minister said.
