Suspended King, relatives owe Rs 50 mln electricity bills
Kathmandu, Feb 24 (UNI) King Gyanendra and his close relatives, who enjoy uninterrupted electricity in Nepal, have not paid more than Rs 50 million to the electricity authority.
''More than Rs 55,486,000 worth electricity bills have not been paid by the King and his close relatives,'' Kantipur quoted an official of the electricity authority as saying.
''If we calculate the interests and penalty charge, then the amount will be more than that,'' the paper quoted an unnamed official as saying.
The King, and a total of 22 of his close relatives, including his son, have not paid the bills.
There is loadshedding everywhere in Nepal but the royal relatives get uninterrupted electricity.
