Tawnluia thanks Mizos for today's Mizoram
Aizawl, Feb 20 (UNI) Mizoram acting Chief Minister Tawnluia today asserted that peace and development has been reigning in the state since last 21 years.
Mr Tawnluia, on the occasion of 21st Statehood Day, thanked the people for the present picture of the state.
''Mizoram has moved ahead in various fields of development under peaceful atmosphere. This has been possible only through the collaborated efforts of the people,'' he said.
A peace accord was signed by the Centre and Mizo National Front leaders on June 30, 1986 following which the state got its status with special provision.
The then Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi inaugurated the Mizoram state on February 20, 1987.
