'Tare Zameen Par' exempted from entertainment tax in Haryana

Chandigarh, Feb 20 (UNI) The screening of 'Tare Zameen Par' is exempted from entertainment tax in Haryana for a period of 12 weeks.

While giving this information, here today, Haryana Excise and Taxation Minister Birender Singh said that the film deals with a sensitive social problem about children which require urgent attention of the society.

The film has portrayed the issue very beautifully and tries to educate the parents and teachers how to take care of their children so that they can grow into useful members of society with self esteem.

Mr. Singh said that exempting the film from payment of entertainment tax would help both parents and teachers to understand the psychology of children. The State government will have to bear a loss of Rs.15 lakh due to exemption of entertain tax on this movie.
