New Delhi, Feb 20 (UNI) Eminent jurist and former Chief Justice of Delhi High Court Rajinder Sachar has been selected as one of the five jurists at the International Citizens' Tribunal on crimes committed by the Israeli army in Lebanon.

The Tribunal will examine the crimes committed by the Israeli Defence Forces in Lebanon in 2006.

Its proceedings are to be held at Brussels from February 22 to 24.

The initiative to organise the Tribunal was taken by a group of citizens, human rights and ecological activists, humanitarian workers, jurists and political scientists.

The Tribunal will commence with charges based on the report of the Human Rights Committee of the Lebanese Parliament. Victims from the country, survivors, Lebanese jurists and representatives of international human rights organisations will testify. The Israeli side will also present its explanations.

It will end with the Jury comprising members from the five continents presenting their conclusions, said an All India Imperialist Forum statement here.
