One sentenced to life in murder case

Rourkela, Feb 18 (UNI) Additional Sessions judge Fast Track Court, Rourkela, S K Das today convicted one Francis Dungdung of Ghaghari village under Biramitrapur Police station in Sundergarh district in a murder and sentenced him to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10,000.

Pronouncing the judgment, the Judge said Francis would have to go under Rigorous Imprisonment for three months more if he failed to pay the fine.

As per the prosecution Francis murdered one Kerobin Dungdung of the same village with an axe while he had gone to his house to discuss about the cutting of a tree with his(Francis) father on February 18 last year.

When James, brother of the deceased also sustained injuries after Francis assaulted him with the axe when he went to pacify Francis.

The court sentenced Francis to three months more RI for voluntarily causing injury.
