6 kg poppy straw and 40 lt illicit liquor seized in Jammu

Jammu, Feb 17 (UNI) Poppy straw weighing six kg and 40 litres of illicit liquor was seized on Jammu-Punjab Border near Lakhanpur today, police here said.

Acting on specific information, a truck was intercepted on the border during routine checking and six KG poppy straw was recovered during frisking from the possession of the driver, police said.

Driver identified as Ravinder Singh was arrested on the spot and a case has been registered against him,'' police added.

Meanwhile, 40 litres of country made liquor was recovered from the possession of one Parshotam, resident of village in district Kathua.
