CPM Floor leader walks out of Legislative Council
Hyderabad, Feb 16 (UNI) Not satisfied with the reply of Andhra Pradesh Home Minister K Jana Reddy over an issue, CPI(M) Floor leader Sitaramulu today staged a walkout from the Legislative Council during question hour.
Replying to a question by the Left leader, Mr Reddy said the police did not resort to lathicharge on the people displaced by the Yellampalli irrigation project in Karimnagar district on November 24, 2007 as claimed by the Left parties.
The Minister said the police officials concerned told him that no such incident took place at the spot. Police had only arrested 24 people and released them on bail.
When the minister denied the Left leader's claim, Mr Sitaramulu said he had a visual CD to prove the police lathicharge.
Mr Reddy said he would take action against those responsible if there was any proof.
The CPM leader walked out of the House after the minister completed his answer on the question.
