Dist admn to establish 1,000 farm ponds

Karur, Feb 15 (UNI) The Karur District Administration has decided to establish a total of 1,000 farm ponds at the fields of the beneficiaries, who were given land under the State Government's free land scheme, according to Collector T N Venkatesh.

In a statement here yesterday, he said the efforts to establish more farm ponds had intensified in the district.

Funds from the panchayats for establishing farm ponds were routed through the District Watershed Development Agency, he added.
